The Fans Interview

For while I was being asked by many fans to do an interview with Russell, one that included questions from them back in Spring 2006.

What has been the worst/best moment in your career to do date?

Best: Being on Jonathan Ross
Worst: Em...having a bath with a homeless man, wanking a man in a toilet for a tv show living in a home with junkies.

How are you coping with fame?

It's good I really like it. I like to make people laugh and show life. I like being successuful and to continue to be successful.

Do you ever get nervous before shows and how do you get ready?

I get really nervous I think I'm actually going to die. Before a show I like to go into the toilet and close my eyes and think about life and say Hare Krishna and chant.
(right he said a lot more but I can't remember it precisely but you get the picture, he went on a wee bit)

How are you so naturally funny?

I'm naturally sad, so it's nice to be naturally funny so I'm not naturally sad.

If you could do a stand-up duo act with anyone who would it be with and why?

Peter Cooke because he's a genius and beautiful.

Decribe yourself in 3 words.

I'm a man

Very imaginative.

Oh you want adjectives eh? Fine then em...confused, inquisitive and embarrassed.

What's your favourite joke?

I don't like jokes at all, I don't find them funny! If somebody tells me a joke I just look out the window and wait till they go away.

As a patron for the charity Focas, what sort of things will you be doing and what does this mean to you?

It's an opportunity for me to talk about the alternatives to alcohol and taking drugs. I'll get to meet with young people, muck about and hear their stories.

Did the comment from Bob Geldof really upset you?

Yeah, it did really upset me. I don't like it when people use that language on tv espcially infront of my mum.

Who was your fvaourite interviewee on 1 Leceister Square?

Boy George is very interesting, he's going to be on the show soon, oh and Noel Gallagher.

What's the day in the life of Russell life?

I get woken by a car in the morning. Go downstairs, get into the car, go somewhere, show off a bit. Get into another car, go somewhere else, show off again. Eat a little bit, worry about the cat, feed the cat. Go home and think about life.

Describe your ideal woman.

Sensitive, funny and sweet. Like a poem or a cloud.

What are your pet hates?

I really hate it when people beckon you with their finger, like they think you're going to come over. I really hate that! Oh yeah and the marathon, with all those do-gooders and joining in. I don't like it partly because I don't like sports except football, and all that joining in makes me feel left out.

If you weren't a comedian what job would you like to have?

Probably a drug addict.

You can't really get paid for doing that!

Yeah you're right, it's quite expensive actually. I'd like to work with children, a playschool teacher or something.

Why did you decide to pursue a career in comedy?

People used to always laugh at me. I really like showing off and making people laugh a lot. I feel more at home on the stage.

What is your muse?

Pain, embarassment and sadness.

Do you have any phobias?

Death and growing old.

Can you cook?

No, I can't cook at all. Wait, I can make vegetables.

What's your favourite colour?

The coloud of when you close your eye

Who is your most famous friend?

Noel Gallagher

What's your full name?

Russell Edward Brand

Have you ever been start struck?

A little bit, when Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx were on 1 Leceister Square.

Would you ever take part in a reality show?

Never ever! You wouldn't be able to do anything with cameras watching your every move 24/7. I like being alone in my house, looking at myself in the mirror moving about.

Which do you prefer, BBBM or 1LSQ?

I like BBBM because it's live and I like the people. I like 1 Leceister Square because it's sexy and we get good guests on it.

If you have to pick between the two?

What? Why  would I have to do that?

Lets say if it was a life or death situation.

That would never happen that's not realistic. I would refuse to choose between the two. If some man threatened me with my life, I would tell him that I would do his gardening for a week, but after that week he would have to go back to doing his own gardening because that wasn't in the deal.
